And EA Said, Let There Be Ads!!!
Alrighty, so it seems that gaming giant EA games has decided to give us what we want, free games. Almost… Much more after the jump. They are beginning the process of making a free online version of their game “Battlefield Heroes.” They can do this by adding advertisements to the support site and the so called ‘front end’ of the game (me thinks they mean title screen, options menu and loading pages. Though it may alternatively be online in a fashion similar to Runescape.). If this works out, they expect to do this more and more. While I support free games, I am not sure if I want to sacrifice ad free games yet. I know, I know, gaming companies have been heading in this direction for a while, but I still find it appalling to start up a game that I payed sixty bucks for and see ads for Coca-Cola (motor oil that it is). Now, This is free, they deserve to make a buck, but it seems like this could only encourage ‘pay’ games to add more and more ads.
