Are you in the market for a new computer, but whenever you look in the sale paper, you really only look at the price and completely disregard all the specs, because it looks like gibberish to you? Well, don’t worry about it, because The Tech Bros are here to help, and translate it into plain English. I’ve decided to start a new series, and take it word by word and explain what everything means and what you really need for your personal uses. To starts the series off, I’m obviously starting with discussing how much RAM you really need .
First of all, before you can figure out how much RAM is right for your needs, you must first know what it is. RAM is short for Random Access Memory, and it is basically how much memory your computer has. Many people get confused and think that this is how much storage space you have, which is wrong. You’re computer’s memory has nothing to do with storage space. That is a completely different piece of hardware that will be explained later on in the series. Read the rest of this entry »

I am always looking for new articles to write that benefit the webmasters out there, and I have come across a pretty neat way to generate more traffic for your site. No more need to spend hours and hours promoting your site, because this software program is guaranteed to bring you traffic and backlinks. Visitor Frenzy is a nice, little software program that manipulates other websites into thinking that a visitor found their site via a link on your page, when in reality they didn’t. This unique software send out HTTP requests to other websites and says that your URL was the referrer of that visitor. When the owners of these other websites check their traffic stats, they will see that your URL referred other users to their site. Most webmasters usually return the favor for visits and will then put up a link on their site to yours, and send you some traffic. Along with traffic, you will also most likely receive a temporary backlink from that site as well. For as little as $5, you can have tons of traffic, and good backlinks. I honestly don’t know anywhere else you can get such a great deal for this little money. So, what are you waiting for? Just got to http://www.visitorfrenzy.com and purchase a package today. I think you’ll enjoy the results.

Charcoal grilling undoubtedly tastes better than gas, but coals can be a pain. This Baja BBQ is a solution to the more lazy among us who’d rather not deal with coal chimneys and lighter fluid. Constructed of 100% recycled biodegradable paper pulp, the Baja’s 2 pounds of coals will be perfectly hot after 20 minutes and a match. And the whole thing sounds just eco friendly enough to satiate the yuppies who will be buying the Baja at the “gourmet supermarkets” soon. [Mike and Maaike via core77]

I wish that I had one of these new awesome pens made by LiveScribe, when i was back taking my dreadful SAT. This new gadget is so incredibly awesome, that the user has a very minute amount of work to do.
The regular-sized pen, called the Pulse Smartpen, incorporates a microphone and tiny computer inside. Scribble an equation on a piece of paper and it will calculate the answer. It also records audio as the writer is taking notes. Combined with special “dot paper,” the pen stores the audio from that moment in time. Tap on the text later on, and the pen will play back the audio. The audio and notes also can be transferred to the computer.
Marggraff said a smart pen with 1 GB of storage which has about 100 hours of recording time, will be available in March for $149. The 2 GB pen, with 200 hours of recording time, will cost $200. It is compatible with a Windows PC Read the rest of this entry »

Alright, so everyone knows about those annoying cameras that cities across the world are putting up so they can monitor crime and invade your personal privacy, right? Well San Francisco had those installed a few years ago and just now realized they sucked. More info and a video after the jump. It seems that $900,000 just doesn’t buy what it used to. So 68 cameras, 2 seconds per grainy frame, and the aforementioned 900,000 dollars later, and what do you get? 1 arrest. Wooo. Meanwhile, Chicago has similar cameras at 30 fps that have brought great results. So maybe the Police Commish was right when he said the city council was just throwing money away? [SF Gate]
